
ERIC SHAH (Ballet), native of Southern California, began his classical ballet training under the tutelage of Victoria Koenig, Rebecca Wright, and Stanley Holden. He then studied extensively under mentor and ballet master, Arturo Fernandez of Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet. Eric worked with Inland Pacific Ballet for 30 years where he was a principal dancer and Academy instructor of all levels. He was also an instructor at Los Angeles High School of the Arts.He has performed with several US opera companies such as Seattle Opera, Arizona Opera, Opera Carolina, New Jersey Opera, and LA Opera. Eric is the former Co-Artistic Director of Pasadena Dance Theatre. He has lived and worked in Florence, Italy, where he provided instruction in Gyrotonic, ballet, and yoga to dancers from European companies such as La Scala Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Gothenburg Ballet and Nederlands Dance Theater. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Long Beach and also spent four years of study at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood, California. During his dance career, he discovered a wide range of healing modalities which led to extensive study and accreditations, some of which include Pilates, Gyrotonic, Rolfing Structural Integration, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, and Somatic Experiencing. Through all his years of experience, his most meaningful work has been in the teaching, coaching, and mentoring of young and pre-professional dancers. . . . Back
